first, a war in afghanistan...and no luck finding bin laden. that was the point right? than a war in iraq that was declared over years ago, but seems to just keep getting worse and worse. (hows iraqs economy doing with all our money anyway, cause ours isnt doing all that well) if bush were to do one more idiotic thing before leaving office what would be the most idiotic thing he could do? this would be a step in that direction. think he'll go after syria too?

-one swing-

tonight was the worst game of the season. so horribly bad. how bad was it? pretty frickin bad. we lost 13-2 in 5 innings. slow pitch softball...we score 2? nice. get this...i got 2 at bats. 2 at bats in a softball game. im 3rd in the order and i got only 2 at bats. my first at bat the pitcher gave me nothing even near the plate. im a swinger, if its any where close i swing...i took the walk. (maybe the 3rd or 4th time i have EVER walked in my 13 or so years of playing softball) my 2nd at bat i swung at the 1st pitch and hit a line drive over the left center fielders head and off of the top of the fence. a double. thats it. in one game i got ONE swing. one. i swung the bat once tonight. argh. ive made a pact with other players on the team...after tonight this game NEVER happened. we never speak of it again. we are all just down now. a gentle reminder to myself: its only softball.

this weekend. up to the cities on saturday for a wedding. were all spending the night up there saturday night. we'll be pretty close to sammys pizza. will we go? hmmm. we'll see i guess.

i should probably take a shower. i had to work really hard swinging the bat once. goodnight all.

-economic stimulation-

got my stimulus check awhile ago now. (doesnt that sound kinda dirty?) im sure youve all gotten and spent yours by now. did you get anything fun? neely, did you get that beard comb youve always wanted? i hope so. what did i get with mine? a frickin water heater. good old home ownership. i love spending money on water heaters...and heaters when they stop working in the middle of the coldest strech of winter. woo hoo for paying for stuff like that. whats that filter? you bought a new bouncy ball? youre a lucky man.

saturday...we all went up to the MN zoo. it was fun. we did all the outdoor stuff that we havent been able to do all winter. saw kung fu panda in the imax. jealous? yeah youre jealous. then we went to church. the sermon was great and eerie all at the same time. than we went to sammys pizza. if youve never been to sammys pizza, whats the matter with you??!! go to sammys pizza. in brooklyn park. 169N to 610 E to zane...go north on zane about 2 blocks, its right on the left. best pizza...ever! ever. take that pagliais... ...i will still eat you from time to time pagliais...youre still very good.

hey readers. how are ya? ok here. say, on the 4th of july i will be having a gathering at my house...there will be grilling and games and all around good times with friends and family. all 3 of you are invited...(laurie...its not THAT far to drive, come on out) not sure on the exact time yet, but im sure it will be early afternoon or so.

also...on saturday july 19th we will be having a "welcome to the family" party for chloe/kleigh schroeder -rogers-roberts-schroeder-richardson. :) 2pm at my place here on Monroe...food and fun...gifts are NOT required, though i really would like a convertible.

i hope to see you all at one or both.

-its only monday?-

i am going to be exhausted tomorrow. sunday night/monday morning i woke up with a migraine at about midnight. it took about 2 hours for the tylenol to kick in...so it was 2:30 or so by the time i fell back asleep. so ive been tired all day today. we had an 8:15 game tonight. it was us (the 2nd place team) against the 1st place, undefeated team. we lost by...get this...one run. one run. we made so many mistakes. and didnt hit all that well, and we were missing some good players. one run. one.... ... run... one run!

anyways...its 11. gotta get up in a little over 6 hours. still pretty awake. im going to be...tired!

why do so many pizza places close at 10? isnt 10 a little early in the summer? we called three different places at 10:05...all closed. seems dumb to me. libbey talk to your in law about that one, ok?

kleigh will finally be chloe on july 16th at 8:45 am!

got up this morning and went into work. ive been tired all week and just feeling like i cant quite get myself going. anyways, i drove all the way out to sleepy eye. (45 miles or so) as i pulled into town by battery voltage started to drop..."what the heck is going on?"...i pulled into my first stop for the day to check things out. if i have problems with my truck 9 times outta 10 its my piece of crap lift gate. so i went back and brought the gate down about 2 or 3 inches or so...i than hit the switch to bring it back up...nothing. i could hear the switch clicking on and off...but the motor that powers the lift up just gave a sick sounding hum, clicked loudly and than went silent. great. i have 600 pound tanks to deliver and no lift gate to use. not gonna happen. sorry kids, im a wuss that way. i did a couple of my smaller stops in sleepy eye and just used my side door to get things in and out...long story short, i didnt get my hardees breakfast in sleepy eye and i didnt get to see the tornado damage out towards springfield. i just had to get my truck back to the shop in hopes that they can get it done by tomorrow morning. i hate doing this on a friday, but im going to have to double up to get caught up. its gonna be a long day. i left work at 11...napped until 1...met andy and his wrist supports at grizzlys for lunch and than called everyone to see who was all playing softball tonight. about half our team couldnt make it. we had to play 5 or 6 guys who arent on this team. some of our best players were missing too...we lost 9 to 8 in extra innings. we shoulda beat this team if only we were all there.

remember a couple years ago with mike took a ball in the crotch? if not, click here for the story. anyways...last night he was playing softball on his other team...line drive towards him at 3rd...hits his ankle...yeah, broken ankle. so hes done for the year. all our players are dropping! im worried old man schroeder is going to be next...no, not rick, ME!

our church team won both games tonight. 26 to 4 in 4 innings for the 1st game. 9 to 8 in the 2nd. we barely held on to that one. i was 7 for 8...a home run, a double and 5 singles. heres the funny thing...im mad at myself for the one time i got out. and im mad at the ump. i made a diving catch that i had to run full speed for a mile to get to...i ran full out...dove full out...caught it, brought my glove up immediately to show him the ball. he calls safe. safe? are you kidding me. i go to that much work and you blow the call? jeez...he got an ear full from the entire team. in the back of my mind i realize its only softball...but i got the schroeder competitiveness, so...what can you do?

on kind of a related note my cousin andy had a bike accident. he was riding down a hill in san peterville and his water bottle dropped out...he ran it over and went over the handle bars. he went to the emergency room cause it looked like both wrists were broken. turned out to be just sprained but still...ouch. a vital player in the schray-schray-thray may be out for a bit. get better andy!

im tired. going to bed.

filled up the yet to be named jeep(brawler has come up with some GREAT ones...well one) yesterday at 3.89 a gallon. (screw you rich oil company people...) got off of work today and drove the yet to be named jeep (again brawler...your list is gold) over to peterland to have my grandpa put a new headlight in. (have i mentioned how worthless i am when it comes to home and vehicle repair?) i said i drove the jeep over to my grandpas to have him put a headlight in...i used up some of my 3.89 a gallon gas to drive a total of 25 miles to have my grandpa put a headlight in for me. it took him about 30 seconds...i watched and said "huh...i coulda done THAT"...anyways, i left san pedro land and came back to kato...only to find gas had jumped yet again. how much is it now paul? well friends it went from 3.89 all the way up to 4.09. i pumped my fist at the gas station attendant as i drove by...im sure thatll teach them to raise gas prices. if prices are down to 1.50 a gallon tomorrow make a note...it was pauls fist pumping that did it.

i havent been putting much on here lately. i keep logging in, clicking on new post and than saying "eh". (eh is the sound i make when i change my mind about something...or when im getting frustrated...which is where pablo"eh" came from) its nice out...well kinda nice out...so ive been finding excuses to spend as much time outside as possible. plus...the new jeep. the new jeep makes me want to go out driving. so, ive been doing some of that as well.

this weekend had a little of everything. i mowed and did some yard work. a neighbor a few houses down just mowed the lawn for, get this, the 1st time all year. he did the front first and must have wrecked the mower because he quit and didnt come back for a few days. looks like he finished up the back yesterday. it was honestly knee high. the neighbor on the other side mowed for only the 2nd time. it wasnt knee high, but thats just because the weeds have completely taken over the grass and just dont grow as high. if this is the way the neighborhood is going im just going to quit mowing, weed killing, fertilizing, edging, etc. etc. silly neighbors. anyways. we had kind of a family day on saturday. kleigh and i met up with my cousin andy, my grandpa and my mom and played some bocce ball and horse shoes. good times? good times. andy and i are both so competitive that even our family games get serious at some point. hey andy...who won? i cant remember.

sunday night. you could have guessed this...but im not too thrilled about the end of the weekend. and again, a big thank you to the nice man who decided 40-60 hours of week were needed to make a living. cause theres not other things that id rather do with my time. family? no. friends? no. the great outdoors? no. hobbies? no. hammock naps? no...well maybe...anyways, even better than all that, a nice full week of work. toil. toil.

i gave in to kleighs (soon to be chloe) gentle nagging the other day at target and bought her a "pin-cess dwess"...this picture alone made it worth the 20 bucks.
