4 superbowl appearances, four losses. and who can forget the '98 season? what a buzz kill that was. the love boat scandal of last year, and now this.

I believe that the position requirements for the Vikings #1 receiver includes a statement that says, "must be Pro Bowl caliber and cause problems." Urgh.

Yeah, 1998 sucked! The only field goal that Anderson missed ALL YEAR kept us out of the Super Bowl.

I'm still a die-hard fan, though...

someone told me yesterday that the vikings would be 13-3 this year..that was funny enough.. he added "13 arrests and only 3 convictions." good times...good times.

...also lets not forget the number one offense of all time sitting on the ball at the end of the 4th, allowing that game to go to overtime. thanks for the memories denny.

At least that wasn't as embarassing as the 44-0 pummeling we suffered at the hands of the NY Giants in the 2000 NFC Championship game! I also remember the 1986 (or 87?) NFC championship game in which Darren Nelson dropped a pass in the end zone losing us the game against the Redskins. I was like 11 years old at the time... how do I remember that?

after the loss in 98 i distanced myself emotionally from the squad. that way i could laugh in 2000 when they were embarassed by a cheating NY team. outwardly i laughed..deep down i was just as crushed as 98. now i try to find reasons to never love the squad again. and they make that easy on me. i never have to look too far. but at the same time i cant turn and walk away for good. ill watch every frickin game this season..
